A notable feature of Sun Prairie is the density of healthcare facilities within the city limits. This provides residents with efficient access to medical services without the necessity of traveling into downtown Madison.

The city hosts several major providers:

• SSM Health: Offers a wide range of services including primary care, pediatrics, and specialized outpatient surgery.
• UW Health: Maintains a significant presence with clinics offering urgent care, laboratory services, and specialty medicine.
• Prairie Lakes Medical Facilities: The northern side of the city features a concentration of specialty clinics, dental offices, and wellness centers, ensuring that various medical needs are met locally.

Exploring the Local Scene and Public Art

Sun Prairie’s landscape is defined by a mix of educational institutions and public art projects that reflect the area's history and regional pride.

• Sun Prairie Public Library: Located on Linnerud Drive, the library is a central pillar of the community. It is currently undergoing a significant expansion project (slated for completion in early 2026) that will increase its footprint by nearly 80%. The updated facility will include a makerspace, a dedicated teen area, and an outdoor amphitheater.
• Public Art & "Bucky on Parade": In 2018, Sun Prairie participated in the "Bucky on Parade" public art project—a large-scale event featuring 85 life-sized Bucky Badger statues across Dane County. Several of these unique pieces remain notable landmarks in the city, such as "We All Fit Together" at City Hall and "One Leg Up" on West Main Street.
• Natural and Recreational Spaces: The Patrick Marsh Wildlife Area offers over 300 acres of protected wetlands and trails. For structured play, the Sun Prairie Dream Park serves as a landmark playground, while Fly Dog Parks provide dedicated space for pets.
